Former “X Factor Philippines” finalist, Jeric Medina, has recently released another exceptional single entitled “Ngiti”. The singer-songwriter is working his way through the industry with grit and creativity, showing he’s got what it takes to make it to the top. He brings his own twist on the usual R&B, and his sound is as strong as his passion for his art. “Working on my song in the studio is literally seeing and hearing my song come to life and that’s why I love being in the studio. It’s where I belong,” as he mentioned in an interview that appeared in the Manila Times.
So far, Jeric has done good for himself. He came out on top alongside Thyro & Yumi when they won the PhilPop 2015 competition. He’s also released a pair of singles as an indie artist before signing with Viva Records. And quite recently, two recent compositions in “Baka Sakali” and “Dahilan” made its way to Popstar Royalty Sarah Geronimo’s “This 15 Me” album released just this year.
To be sure, his latest single “Ngiti” is all Jeric. Smooth sounding OPM, with a hint of R&B, that has an inherent swagger and style. That track is co-produced by renowned producer Teddy Katigbak. Though Medina has been at some point compared to OPM legend Martin Nievera for his vocal skills, Jeric isn’t letting it go to his head. In fact, he’s working hard to earn praises like those all the more. And one way to get there is by working hard at his art. Which is crafting songs and in bringing it to life.
