Pinoy pop royalty Sarah Geronimo marks a career milestone with the release of her latest album entitled “This 15 Me.” The new set, her 13th studio record overall, comes on the eve of Sarah Geronimo’s similarly titled concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, which celebrates the pop star’s fifteenth year in Philippine music and entertainment.
“This 15 Me” has ten tracks (eleven if one will include the interlude) and collects new original songs of varying themes and sounds. Sarah G and longtime label Viva Records released a teaser single early this year with “Sandata.” The track kept apace with the EDM flavor of her past hits “Tala,” “Ikot Ikot,” “Tayo” and such.
But two new songs, namely “Ganito” and “Duyan” signal a new shift of sorts for the ever-evolving pop artist. Written by Nica Del Rosario, “Ganito” is a return to acoustic flavored pop balladry. While “Duyan” written by Thyro & Yumi, is a left turn into the soulful, old-school sound of R&B.
The rest of “This I5 Me” is an excursion into the varied musical leanings of Sarah Geronimo. From the chilled out future bass/chill trap-tinged “Ganito” and “Tagu-Taguan.” To the post-lounge flavored “Feels Good,” to alt-hued balladry of “Hingang Malalim.” And back to basics catchy pop of “This Gotta Be Love.” Completing the new set are “Baka Sakali” and “Dahilan.”
“This 15 Me” will be released on Friday, April 13 on Spotify, Apple Music, Itunes and all digital music portals. The CD version of the album will be available at the concert venue on the Big Dome on Saturday. The CD is priced at Php 400.
Sarah Geronimo’s “This 15 Me” is produced, manufactured and distributed by Viva Records.
