Doing double-duty for her most recent project is Viva Records artist Yassi Pressman. “Girlfriend For Hire” which stars Pressman and Andre Paras, opened yesterday at the cinemas and is the second movie that the MTV-VJ-singer-actors have led and paired on.
“GFFH” is based on the popular Wattpad story of the same title written by “Yam-Yam28” and is produced for the big screen by Viva Films. Directed by Vanessa De Leon and screenplay by Jose Javier Reyes, the movie sets anew the onscreen love team of Pressman and Paras, who has starred previously on “Diary Ng Panget” (as supporting cast) and last year’s horror-spoof “Wang Fam.”
Busy as she is as one-half of the “Yandre” love team, Yassi still managed to record and sing a cover of the Kuh Ledesma-gem “I Think I’m In Love” which serves as the theme song for “GFFH.” Also included in the movie is the still-to-be-released original track entitled “Seryoso Na ‘To.” But it’s all in a day’s work for the young actress/singer who also balances her MTV Pinoy VJ work and endorsements.
“GFFH” also stars some of Viva’s rising young in Shy Carlos, Donnalyn Bartolom e, Josh Padilla, Abby Bautista, and Clint Bondad. The movie also and also features Ara Mina, Jovic Monsod, King Certeza, Janna Roque, Cloark Merced, Via Aurigue, Jelson Bay ad veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez.
The plot of the movie features the story of a rich bachelor (played by Paras) who hires an orphaned girl (Pressman) to be a fake girlfriend to skirt off his grandfather’s wish of setting him up for a fixed marriage. For her part in the necessary deception, Pressman’s character gets some extravagant perks which includes a condo unit, a hefty pay and of course, a tall, good-looking boss. But it all comes with a catch — never fall in love with your employer. Inevitably of course, Pressman and Paras find themselves in that spot and is further complicated as Paras’ past comes rushing back in the persona of her ex (played by Shy Carlos).
“Girlfriend For Hire” is a romantic date movie that’s perfect for Valentines 2016. The movie is currently showing in cinemas nationwide.
