Pop rock group Cup Of Joe has secured the top spot as the leading OPM band on Spotify, displacing Ben&Ben, this according to Chart Data Ph’s recent post update on Spotify’s PH Daily Top OPM Groups, making the young Baguio-based group the No. 1 group in the land today.
After trailing Ben&Ben for several weeks, Cup Of Joe has gradually risen to the top, until finally securing the coveted position this weekend as per Chart Data Ph’s recent post. Currently boasting nearly 4 million monthly listeners, Cup Of Joe relied on the strength of several singles that includes “Estranghero” (36 million+), “Ikaw Ang Pipiliin Ko” (24 million+), “Mananatili” (10 million+), “Cinderella” (12 million+), “Bukod Tango” (9 million+), “Patutunguhan,” and “Tataya” (6 million+ respectively).
But it was their latest release, “Tingin” (Viva Records) featuring Janine (Tenoso), currently the top female OPM act on on Spotify, that solidified Cup Of Joe’s position as current No. 1 OPM band. Since its April 2023 debut, the collaboration has resonated with fans, accumulating over 22 million listens on Spotify.
Cup Of Joe, which includes vocalists Raph Ridao and Gian Bernardino, keyboardist Xen Garza, bassist Sevii Severino, and guitarists Gab Fernandez and CJ Fernandez, has also made its debut on Spotify’s PH Top Artists chart, securing the No. 8 position, as reported by Chart Data PH.
Additionally, “Tingin” (feat. Janine) has claimed the top spot on Spotify playlists such as Top 50 Philippines, Hot Hits Ph, Top Songs Ph, and Tatak Pinoy, reflecting Cup Of Joe’s ascent as a music act in the Pinoy music scene.
