The release of FERODINA’s debut single “Tumitig Ka” under Ivory Music signals a new beginning for the dynamic and genre-fluid band. Featuring Fender Dimalanta (vocals/guitar), Steven Naguit (bass), Joaquin Rodrigo (drums), and Brian Feliciano (keyboard/saxophone), this release doubles down on their promise as a potential hit-band-in-waiting.
The band’s origin traces back to Eat Bulaga’s Music Herbo. As winners post-competition, Fender, Brian and Joaquin formed part of the show’s house band alongside future IV of Spades members Blaster Silonga. After this band’s dissolution, FERODINA emerged.
Reflecting on their journey, Brian Feliciano notes, “disbanding led to FERODINA’s formation.” Fender Dimalanta adds, “there was already a bond through music.” Completing the lineup, Fender brought in his long-time friend Steven Naguit, who fit seamlessly into the band.
FERODINA’s music showcases their proficiency and creative chemistry, with a genre-fluid approach. “I bring a song draft, and everyone contributes,” says Fender. Steven highlights their open-mindedness, “We pursue whatever sounds good to us.”
Their diverse music includes tracks like “Muling Nakita Ka,” “Ako’s Sa’yo Ikaw ay Akin,” and “Samahan Mo Ako.” Their latest alt-pop single “Tumitig Ka” is described by Joaquin as an “‘abangers-anthem’ about a guy waiting for a couple to break up for a chance at love,” penned by Fender.
“Tumitig Ka” marks a new chapter for FERODINA, bringing renewed enthusiasm and commitment. Fender shares, “Our passion drives us, and we aim to inspire through our music.” Steven adds, “Playing music is our way of communicating and connecting.” Joaquin, emphasizing their musical heritage, states, “We come from a family of musicians; it’s what we do.”
As Brian sums up, “Consistency and passion are key. We just have to keep doing what we love.”
“Tumitig Ka” by FERODINA is now available on all major streaming platforms as of May 31, 2024, under Ivory Music.
