Hit pop rock band The Juans are kicking off the Yule season with a series of performances of choice Christmas songs.
The band—lead singers Carl Guevara and Japs Mendoza, bassist Chael Adriano, guitarist RJ Cruz and drummer Joshua Coronel—are taking a break off from promoting their latest single “Pangalawang Bitaw” and getting their Yule holiday hats on for their “Paskong May Hugot” series.
According to Guevara, these upcoming series of performances are “classic Christmas songs with a touch of The Juans’ original music.” Basically, these are the Yule-themed classics we all know mashed up with band originals performed live and posted on their Youtube channel. One of first songs the band did was ‘Silence Ain’t Lonely,” a new track they blended flavor to the classic “Silent Night”
“Sobrang sakto yung “Silent Night” sa panahon na’to. Tahimik, wala masyadong hype. Walang live events. Hindi lahat pwedeng mag-mall at mag Christmas Festivities. Pero hindi ibig sabihin malungkot na agad. Not all kinds of silence mean loneliness and sadness – minsan silence is essential for us to have peace and calmness in a very difficult time like this. May this song remind us that it was actually a “Silent Night” when Jesus, our King and Savior, was born to rule forever,” said Guevara.
These performances will premier on the band’s Facebook page and later be uploaded on The Juans YouTube channel.
In closing Guevara shared, “In a time when it’s super challenging to celebrate Christmas, we wanna use our platform to encourage every JUAN to find a reason to still celebrate, no matter how simple or modified it will be”
