‘Sarah Geronimo Wins CMMA Plum for “Perfectly Imperfect”’

By PL Sarah Geroinomo received a Catholic Mass Media Award for her most recent album “Perfectly Imperfect.” Geronimo was among the winners in the 37th Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) ceremonies on Wednesday night. Geronimo won on the strength of her best selling album that included the hits “Kilometro,” “Minamahal” and “Perfectly Imperfect.” But one of the key album tracks on the record is the worship-themed song “In Your Hands.” Written by Agat Obar-Morallos, the tune was a slight departure from the usual pop and ballads fare that Geronimo is used to. Nonetheless, the song was a personal pick by the singer when she was still in the process of choosing songs for the said album. “In Your Hands” was produced by Civ Fontanilla of Viva Records and arranged by Melvin Morallos. The theme of the recent CMMA’s is “Communicating The Family: A Privileged Place Of Encounter with the Gift Of Love” based on the message of Pope John Francis for the World Communications Day held early January 2015. The CMMA was established in 1978 by the late Cardinal Sin as a means for the church to pay tribute to those who “serve God by means of the mass media.” This year’s entry reached 803 entries in various media categories in print, television, radio, advertising, worldwide web and music. Exactly 284 made it as finalists. Sarah Geronimo is currently recording songs for a new album.
